Eligibility

  • Ages 8-18 are eligible. 
  • BRAVO camp will be broken into three groups, based on skill level and age. If not, campers will be placed in Miami Swimming Academy groups.
  • MSA campers must be safe in the water by themselves and will be broken up into two groups based on age.
  • Sleep Away Campers must be 14 years old or older by the first day of camp.
  • Swimmers must have medical insurance and sign a release of liability waiver.

Swim Levels

BRAVO I (8-11)

  • Must have basic knowledge of all 4 major strokes.
  • Focus will be on stroke development and efficiency, as well as building aerobicCapacity.
  • Age-appropriate camp activities include but are not limited to arts and crafts, dryland activities, board games, indoor games such as duck duck goose or heads up seven up, reading time, trivia games, indoor sports such as ping pong, etc.

 

BRAVO II (11-14)

  • Swimmers should be legal in all 4 major strokes and be able to legally complete a 100 IM.
  • Swimmers must be able to run 10x50s freestyle on a 1:05 Interval.
  • Focus will be on stroke development and efficiency, as well as building aerobics.capacity.
  • Age-appropriate camp activities include but are not limited to arts and crafts, dryland activities, board games, indoor games such as heads up seven up, reading time, trivia games, indoor sports such as ping pong, sport competitions such as relays & pushup contests, etc.

 

BRAVO III (14-18)

  • Swimmers should have 2+ years’ experience of competitive swimming.
  • Swimmers must be able to run 10x100s freestyle on a 1:30 Interval. 
  • Focus will be on stroke development and efficiency, as well as building aerobic capacity. Also, a lot of focus on dryland training and overall athletic improvement
  • THIS GROUP IS FOR EXPERIENCED/DEDICATED SWIMMERS ONLY

 

MSA I (8-12 years old)

  • Swimmers must be safe in the water by themselves.
  • Swimmers can enter and exit the water comfortably without assistance.
  • Must be able to float on front and back.
  • The focus will be on teaching swimmers the 4 major strokes and efficient swimming.
  • Age-appropriate camp activities include but are not limited to: dryland activities, board games, indoor games such as duck duck goose or heads up seven up, arts and crafts, reading time, trivia games, indoor sports such as ping pong, etc.

 

MSA II (13-18)

  • Swimmers must be safe in the water by themselves.
  • Focus will be on teaching all 4 major strokes and starting to build aerobic capacity and efficiency in the water.
  • Age-appropriate camp activities include but are not limited to arts and crafts, dryland activities, board games, indoor games such as heads up seven up, reading time, trivia games, indoor sports such as ping pong, sport competitions such as relays & pushup contests, etc.

 

Artistic Swimming (8-18)

  • Does your child want to try Artistic Swimming? Or maybe they are current athlete who wants to add in some summer training?  
  • Swimmers will be placed for practice purposes in two subgroups: 8-12 years old and 12 – 18 years old.
  • Under the guidance of artistic swimming coaches, this program will integrate dynamic dryland training, swimming stroke development, and focus on refining techniques for figures and routines.

Freestyle June 10th – June 14th
  • Developing proper freestyle kicking and body position
  • Work on engaging core and proper rotation.
  • Teaching proper catch, pull, and recovery.
  • Distance per stroke, proper hand entry, feeling water.
  • Learning how to swim different freestyle events (25,50,100,200,500,1000,1650)
  • Freestyle breakout and turn work.
  • Dryland exercises to help develop core strength.

*Video games are NOT allowed! Cell phone use is permitted only after the camp day has ended.

Campers will always be fully supervised by counselors. Activities will take place on the beautiful campus of Florida International University.

Olympic Virtual Camp Mentorship

Get ready to experience first-hand, personal swim clinics and mentorship from top Olympians and World Champions. Learn the unique technique and approach that helped these superstars reach the pinnacle of the sport.

Campers will also be privileged to the unique Olympic approach that helped our Olympian virtual guests reach the pinnacle of the sport. Participants will receive group video session with the coaches and Olympians throughout the summer, offering a next level of inspiration and motivation not found in your run of the mill swim camp.

* Special Olympic appearances are based on talent availability and Summer Olympics schedules this year. More information and exact dates will become available upon talent availability.

Pre-care & After-care

As a convenience to our families, we offer extended hours Monday through Friday. Campers participate in relaxing games, watch movies, take a walk by the bay during this time and will be supervised by camp staff.
– AM Extended Day  7:45-8:45 $48/week
– PM Extended Day  4:00-6:00 $96/week
– AM & PM Extended Day  $130/week

Discounts and Details
  • *10% off early bird discount enrolled by March 31 st @ 11:59 p.m.
  • *Multiple session discount of $40 off for 3-5 weeks, $90 off for 6-8 weeks, 10th week free for 9-week package.
  • *Sibling discount of 5% off the 2nd and subsequent child’s tuition.
  • *Registration needs to be paid online in full for the child to participate in camp.

Sleep Away Camper Travel
  • Airport Pickup and Drop-off is included in the sleep away
    campers Cost. 
  • When making flight reservations, please arrive on Sunday and depart on Friday after 6PM, or select a weekend extension.
  • Upon arrival your swimmer will be met by one or more of our staff at their corresponding airport security exit. Staff  will be wearing a camp shirt.
  • On the return we will check-in your swimmer into the TSA security line.  Please contact us for more information.
Cancelation
  • Each level group is limited to 15 swimmers and overseen by one coach and one counselor.
  • If you cancel your enrollment with less than a month to go, the Bravo team will retain 30% of the payment. If the cancellation is made less than one week – 50% will be retained.
  • If the child gets sick, we can move your payment for another week, pending availability.
